Drive solutions for the textile industry

During the international exhibition ITMA 2023, Baumüller demonstrated the use of intelligent drive and automation technology to calculate and optimize the carbon footprint of machines and systems used by machine manufacturers and end users to significantly reduce energy cost.

Baumüller has been involved in the field of circular economy and energy efficiency for several years.

Direct drive technology should help manufacturers significantly reduce their energy costs.

The «Smart Energy Monitoring» software developed by Baumüller will support manufacturers in their efforts to optimize processes in textile machines and to display, in full transparency, energy costs.

Packaging technology

In addition to the «b maXX 5000» series, Baumüller presented the most important innovation in its product portfolio, the future servo-regulator generation, the «b maXX 6000».

The main advantage of this new innovation lies in its improved scalability and additional security features, but also the Industry 4.0 intelligent functions, such as the energy management integrated into the drive.

Packaging machines require maximum quality and control dynamics, but also high power density. This is the ideal application area for the space-saving modular «b maXX 6300» system.

The new controllers offered should be faster and more reliable than ever. And despite this extended functional scope, the proposed software is compatible with the previous family of machines, the «b maXX 5300».

Mechanical Monitoring Software Solution

Mechanical monitoring solutions ensure regular monitoring of the machines’ condition. Its major advantage lies in its ability to detect, at an early stage, the state of wear of the engines, thus offering the possibility of performing preventive maintenance, avoiding the shutdown of the machines. The use of sensors makes this solution highly expensive, especially in the case of textile companies, using a very large number of machines.

Baumüller developed a software solution, named «drive-based condition monitoring» making mechanical monitoring without sensors possible. The software, integrated directly into the servo-controllers, is easy to install, offering an efficient solution at a lower cost.
